Site Team Leader- Myakka City Methodist Church

Hello! My name is Ashley E. Curley, and I was born in Bradenton, Florida. My family moved to North Port a few years later. In 2016, my father was offered a pastoral position in Myakka City, and since then, we have split time between the two.  I graduated from North Port High School in the top 20% with both my CDA (Child Development Associate) degree, focusing on ages 0-3, and my ECPC (Early Childhood Professional Certificate), focusing on ages 0-5, in Early Childhood Education. I am currently enrolled at WGU, where I am working to obtain my Bachelor’s in Educational Studies in Elementary Education and am expected to graduate in June 2026.  I am a member of The Myakka City Methodist Church, where my dad, Matthew Curley, is the pastor. At church, I enjoy teaching Sunday school, planning, and decorating for celebrations.

If you ask anyone who knows me, they will tell you that I have always wanted to be a teacher. When I was little, I used to set up my stuffed animals in my bedroom and pretend they were my students. Growing up and continuing to this day, I have seen my parents work with children in various capacities, including as teachers, aides, substitutes, and even coaches. Seeing the amount of joy they possess as they work with children and help them flourish and grow has made me look up to them in many ways. Working with children has been an honor, and I look forward to continuing my education and growing as a Professional in the field of Elementary Education. I am excited to be a part of your child’s learning experience and look forward to getting to know you all.
